Deb has over 25 years of experience in the market place which predominantly spans across Commercial and Private Sectors, including Public Relations, Banking & Finance, Information Technology (Systems Integration), Supply Chain/Distribution/Logistics, Hospitality (5 Star International Hotel Chains), Property Management, Recruitment and Human Resources.

As a qualified Human Resources Manager, DJWM is well resourced utilising Deb's industry knowledge and specialist recruitment practices and skills. Thorough and targeted interviewing and selection processes combined with specific skills testing and behavioural questioning (if required), ensure the right person is found for the role every time. Deb believes in the principles of conducting the interview process as thoroughly for Contract and Temporary roles, as you would do for Permanent, understanding that the client market needs the right person from day "one", regardless of how long the assignment or tenure might be. Likewise, dedication to the Client to form a business partnership and strong relationship is just as important, with a commitment to servicing the Client for the life of the partnership.

From 1991 to 1997, Deb held the role of National HR Manager with Southmark Computer Systems Pty Ltd (owned by Fujitsu Australia). In 1996, the company required downsizing for the retrenchment of 40 employees, Australia wide, from a total number of 200 employees. Generalist HR practices were a day-to-day focus during this time with the added attention required for the outplacement program to run smoothly. Deb’s experience in business from both the Employer and Employee side, coupled with the formal qualifications and methodologies required in HR practice today, enable an ideal blend of business acumen combined with empathy and a common sense approach to today’s job market - this puts Deb’s level of service above the rest.

Deb's ability to scope special projects and events is an added advantage when it comes to volume placement, rostering, scheduling and costing. These skills were acquired whilst managing, in conjunction with other project staff, 130 staff for Spring Racing Carnival (Melb 1999), 150 staff for Australian Grand Prix (Melb 2000) and 400 staff for Olympic Games (Syd 2000) where the Project team’s labor staff were responsible for the entire Logistics set up and Games Time Operations for the Athletes Village, Media Village and six major Venues, right through to final dismantling.

More recently, from 2003 through to 2007, Deb performed DJWM’s highest Human Resource Consulting achievement with the Australia-wide supply chain and distribution project for Hutchison Telecommunication’s “Orange” and “3” mobile phone network project. Deb managed all the Human Resource and Staffing components for a 4-year project that grew from 6 employees to 135 employees. During that time a full OH&S overlay structure was implemented, managed and audited through to successful completion of SafetyMAP accreditation.

Having worked in Canada, London, Brisbane, Sydney 2000 and, more recently, Sydney 2001 in the capacity of Branch Manager for a Sydney based Recruitment Company, Deb has returned to Melbourne to head up her Directorship of DJWM and is back in Melbourne to stay. Melbourne is her home.
